FounderConsole vs Sturppy vs Finmark vs Causal: Two of These No Longer Exist
By Vishesh Khurana — Aug 10, 2026
Update, 10 August 2026. We first published this in March as a four-way comparison. Two of the four products in the title are no longer things a founder can buy, so we rewrote it rather than quietly deleting the page.
Disclosure: we make one of the tools in this comparison.
Two of the four are gone
Finmark is shut down. BILL acquired it in 2023 and sunset the product on 1 April 2026. finmark.com redirects to the bill.com homepage and bill.com/finmark returns a 404 — no destination page, no migration guide. If Finmark is the tool you lost, we wrote a guide to where your runway model goes next.
Causal is now enterprise software. Lucanet acquired it in October 2024 and causal.app redirects to Lucanet's Extended Planning & Analysis page, which sells to finance departments rather than founders. Pry went to Brex, Mosaic went to HiBob, and in July 2026 Runway Financial lost the runway.com domain to an AI video company — we tracked the whole category's consolidation in one timeline.
Sturppy: the one competitor still aimed at founders
Sturppy is alive and still sells to early-stage companies. It ships Sturppy Planning for founders building an investor-ready model, sold as a lifetime deal, and Sturppy Plus for established businesses, with AI CFO chat and live data. Two limitations: neither its homepage nor its pricing page publishes a number, and we could not find probabilistic forecasting described anywhere in its public materials — the modelling appears to be scenario-based and deterministic.
What we built instead
FounderConsole connects your actual financial data through 37 production connectors, or a CSV upload, and runs Monte Carlo simulation to produce P10, P50 and P90 runway bands rather than a single date. It adds an AI copilot that answers questions against your own numbers, cap table and dilution modelling, and board-deck generation. Where your data cannot honestly support a metric we mark it as an estimate or show N/A rather than printing a plausible-looking number.
Which one to pick
If you want a clean investor-ready model from a template and are comfortable getting pricing through a sales conversation, Sturppy is a reasonable choice. If you want a range rather than a date, tied to live data, that is what we built FounderConsole for. If you are here because Finmark or Causal disappeared, export your historical actuals to CSV first — revenue, COGS, opex, payroll and cash balance are the only things genuinely expensive to reconstruct.
